I think without a doubt Deadpool is one of those films that is solely original. Believe the hype because the film is awesome and really hilarious. Starting by the opening credits, how it makes fun of how Hollywood takes itself too seriously. The jokes throughout the film that poke fun at how stupid and exaggerating comic films can be. I think I haven't enjoyed a love story in so long up until now. If you're fed up with Nicolas Sparks, this is the film to watch. You'll get your dose of action and romance in one package. It's a bit of a throwback to an 80's rendition. It's what you would expect from a comic book film because realistically you'd expect to see blood and a bit of more violence and this film delivers. You'd typically see that the "superhero" is this extremely good looking man (which he is to begin with) and he's now burned and not what you'd typically expect in a leading man. I'm a huge film buff and I especially like these super hero films, but this completely changed the evolution of how other Marvel films may take a play on things. It's definitely a must see.

Deadpool

Hey,
I think as you said Deadpool is refreshingly original. Superhero movies are generally huge money making projects for film and production studios and it was nice to see a movie done differently. I think if the writers and directors wanted to they could have easily asked for more money from the production companies, brought in a few other established superheroes and tapered the violence and language to make it more accessible to a larger public. The fact that they did not do this is certainly what makes the film more enjoyable, at one point Deadpool even made fun of the fact that they didn’t spring for more expensive X-men characters, only two relatively unknowns. The superhero film industry has blown up dramatically in the last five to ten year so it was definitely good to see, as you said, something solely original.

Hello,

I really enjoy your writing. I have not watched Deadpool yet, but i think it is good movie to me. I love to watch something without serious thinking because comic and action movies is for having fun, not for thinking deeply. However, It is better to watch without seeing blood and violence. As you said, the movie must very typical type of 'super hero' movie. Thank you about your review of Deadpool. I should watch it !

Hi there,

After watching deadpool, I am extremely excited for what Marvel has in store in the future for this character. In the form of media, I can tell how the filmmakers make a decision to open the film out to the largest market they possibly could with the materials they had, but I personally wish they would have gone further with their choices. It seems that they just touched on the crudeness, the sexuality, and the violences as to not go "too far." The film is rated r for violence, nudity, drugs, and adult situations. Since they are already touching on those areas, why not go all the way? I figure that this was done to not turn off everyone from enjoying the anti-superhero. I believe that this was used as the bait to pull people into the even crazier sequel.

As a marvel fan I too am excited for the new Deadpool character. With that being said, I don't see how his raunchy charter is going to fit in with the rest of the pg-13 band of heroes. Personally I thought it was a nice leap at connecting to a new audience but I think it's going to take away much of Deadpool wittiness and style if he is to join the regular heroes we are used to seeing. He belongs in a violent world. A world that isn't filled with corniness.
