There is a page that I follow on Facebook called Relevant Magazine. I haven't been a particularly huge fan of Justin Bieber, per say. I don't really follow what he does, but I am aware of when he wasn't doing "so well" several years ago. I read this post regarding his decision to delete his Instagram. It mentions that he warned people not to put their faith in him, and that humans aren't meant to be worshipped. To be honest, I'm kind of impressed by his views on this. I agree that people shouldn't be worshipped, but it's so easy to idolize celebrities, Instagram "models', etc. I agree that it can be very dangerous, and I think it's safe to say that many of us have experienced this. Obviously, most times, people are going to post happy, and exciting moments of their lives. It can make this sort of illusion. Personally, I feel it's important not to get too wrapped up with social media. I still use it for entertainment, or when I'm bored, but I try not to let myself get sucked into the whole thing. My friends call me a "grandma" for being so anti-technology and almost anti-social media... I have to note, I've also realized what a different aspect Instagram and social media present to a relationship and the potential problems they pose. I've read articles about how much easier it is for people to cheat today, not necessarily physically, but emotionally, with someone over social media. I think it's scary, and such a different world we live in today. I know that personally, I've "learned" to be become a little extra paranoid with social media... But that might just be me. I would love to hear other people's views and perspectives on social media, and in particular, Instagram.
