Today, Emma Greer Dibiase passed away at 16 after a long battle with Stage four Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. She is most known for her hilarious Vines. Although I was never fortunate enough to talk to or meet her, she has had an immense impact on me and many others. I have so much admiration and respect for her. She had to go through so much pain during her battle but always remained so positive. Over a year ago, I found her Vine account and she instantly became one of my favorite accounts. I could see that she was one of a kind. An angel on Earth. She was so full of happiness and life that you would often forget that she was battling such a horrible illness. When I learned that her cancer had relapsed, I was so shocked. It is so unfair for such a young person to have to go through what she had to. I can't even imagine the incredible amount of strength it takes to fight cancer twice. She taught me and so many others so much and her profound impact is incomparable. Emma changed my outlook on life and taught me that it's okay to be myself and make memories with the ones I love. Last month she shared that her doctors gave her three weeks to three months to live. It hurt to read that she was scared and didn't want to die. She felt like she hadn't left her mark on this world yet, but I think she did. She changed her friends' lives and brightened everyone's day. She had so much love for her friends and family and never gave up.Despite her situation, she always had big, beautiful smile on her face. My heart goes out to her family and friends during this difficult time. And while I was never privileged to have known her personally, I will never forget her.
Rest In Peace Greer
