So today I was sitting in my couch and I saw that we had a fashion and celebrities magazine on the table. I started to read it because I usually enjoy it. I think it is fun to see all the new trends and style famous people come up with. During the time I was looking through this magazine I started to think how much they actually affect you and I started to think how many people who actually change their current style or thought about different things just because they read this magazine. I find it really interesting how the layout, presentation and manipulation of the photos can affect the audience. Every time I am reading a magazine like that I find something I want to change, maybe a hair color or style or I find something new I want to buy, as a new make up product, clothes, shoes etc.

Then I started to think about all the models for these magazines and how they look like. Last week I saw a documentary on my nutrition class about how they make an advertisement of a weight loss product. In the documentary they said that they can shoot the before picture and after picture at the same day but they manipulate in different photoshop programs on the computer. The result was crazy, they made a person lose 30 pounds by manipulate and adjust different things in the computer and the edit program. Why I am bringing this up is that I was thinking about it today while I was reading this magazine and all the models are absolute stunning even if I think they are way to skinny, but their skin, their eyes, they color, their hair, everything is perfect.

I just hope and wish that this post can be a wake up call for younger girls and boys who is not aware of that these pictures we see in the magazines are probably not how they look like naturally. It is important to know that even if these pictures and these models are represented in this special magazine, its no reason to think that this is the way we should look like. We all are different and that is the beautiful thing here in life.
