Lately, I've been very interested in Instagram, and how it is a platform for young talent. I have seen it being used to promote young starlets, such as the girls from Dance Moms: Maddie Ziegler (the sensational dancer from Sia's music videos), alongside, Mackenzie, Nia, Kalani, Kendall, Jojo, and Brynn. These girls are trying to position themselves on the path to stardom, and they rely heavily on social media, such as Instagram, to do so.

Additionally, I've learned that Instagram contributes to micro communities that communicate and market among themselves. One of these is the dance community. Dancers, choreographers, crews, and studios are able to work with one another to create cohesive, effective strategies. This is a helpful aspect for those who are training to dance professionally.

Overall, it is clear that Instagram is a powerful media tool. It can build incredible platforms for rising artists, and allows them to completely mold their image in the public eye. By allowing fans to have more access to their favorite artists, or even restricting said access, an artist's image can be precisely managed.
