I leave my house around 7 a.m for work in order to avoid traffic in the 110-S. Being honest it is impossible because by the time I get to the freeway it is already congested. In order to relieve the stress from traffic I turn on my radio or use my iphone for spotify. When I use spotify the artist I always look for is Calvin Harris. For some while now, he has been my favorite artist. His songs are just beautiful because of the lyrics and beat.

During the summer I flew out to Georgia for a week with my mom to visit my aunt and uncle. When I was waiting for my flight to come back to Los Angeles I heard repeatedly the song "summer" by Calvin Harris. It made me have flashbacks of how summer had been and of the great memories I had experienced. This song was also a good transition to get me into the mood of fall. Why? Because of the lyrics that this song contains :
" When I met you in the summer
To my heartbeat sound
We fell in love
As the leaves turned brown"

I recently did a search on Calvin Harris in yahoo and there was an article that said that Calvin Harris and Iggy Azalea were top artists for the summer in spotify. When I read it I was amazed because I didn't expect it. But I am glad that he continues with his music because it has a great tune. So if anyone is open to new taste in music I would suggest to listen to Calvin Harris. If anyone has any suggestions for new artists you can let me know, I would be glad to listen to anything.

HaHa! When I first started reading this post I said to myself “Who?”. I asked my best friend if she has ever heard of him. She gave me an awkward look and explained to me that one of MY favorite songs is “Summer”. I am the worst at knowing the names of artist or songs. I often just listen to music for the beat or the instruments. Listening to lyrics has never been something that I have done. One day I was listening to Janet Jackson (love her) in the car with my mother and I paid attention to the lyrics. I was instantly embarrassed by the lyrics and the fact that my mother was in the care with me.

Music has a funny way of triggering memories. There are songs that I hear that bring me back to hanging out with friends in Jr. high school at the pool hall. Songs that remind me of my first love and so on. Music is a powerful form of communication.
