I was in my speech class this Friday, and we were presenting about people who are ethical and non-ethical. A classmate said that he thought Luis Suarez was non-ethical. Luis Suarez is a Uruguayan soccer player. He usually plays rough and gets suspended from games a lot. But one day he racially abused a soccer played named Patrice Evra. Suarez kicked Evra because he was black. Also Suarez doesn’t like speaking to blacks. He got banned from playing a few soccer games. When he came back to play, he didn’t handshake Evra before the traditional pre-game handshakes. The media used that opportunity to manipulate the public to be against him.
I think want he did was wrong. He was completely racist towards blacks. He has no respect for them. Plus he is not a good example to kids who look up to him. To make it worse he was fully supported by his teammates and they thought what happened to him was unjust. He is lucky that teams from Europe want him on their team after the whole problem.
I’m glad he got punished for his actions. Even though the media was involved, it was necessary to let people know what happened. But I can’t believe he thought he shouldn’t be punished for what he did. He was upset that they used his error to get back at the Liverpool team. Karma got back at him and that’s what matters most.
