Unfortunately it still exists its an issue that may never be resolved due to the ammount of hate that exist in society. World peace may only be but a dream!

No racism will never be gone. it is very sad but true. Everyone has a little bit of racism in them. We are all Naturally born to be racist i believe. It takes acceptance time and understanding to get rid of some ones racial views. Racism can never be fully gone. Look at the war for example, war is very racist. You are killing off another population of people in warfare. Like how the Shiit muslims hate the Sunni muslims. That is a form of racism because they cannot accept the other form of religion which is essentially a race of people. For one not to be racist they need to learn that stereotypes are not true and that it is all about the individual. They must learn acceptance of other people as well.

I agree, I don't think racism is over. We always stereotype other ethnicity by what we see in the media. For instance on what you said about the Asian basketball player that everyone is surprised by how well he plays;however, if he was African American society would have already expected it from him. I don't believe racism will ever end;I mean I don't in any way think we are all racist, but we do stereotype one another everyday whether we want to admit it or not. I do think we can be more careful in our thoughts and get to know one another before we start judging each other, which could change our aspects of one another.

Of course it's still alive. Unfortunately, it always will be, too.

Any time you can differentiate between "us" and "them," conflicts will arise. In some cases, it's rational, especially when you're dealing with more abstract things, such as Democrats vs. Republicans, or the haves vs. the have nots. These are conflicts of a difference of opinions and of wealth.
But then, some people aren't so rational. While obviously skin color has nothing to do with the nature of a human being, some people foolishly buy into stereotypes and ignorantly make unfair judgments.

But if you really, really want to know if racism is still alive, just take a look at the prison rates. I hope you take some time and do a little research on that, because it should really piss you off. The crowding of American prisons is an enormous problem in and of itself, but it runs deeper than that. Look at the proportions of how many of which race populates our prisons, i.e., what percentage is white, what percentage is black, and so on, and then compare that to the proportions overall throughout the country.

It's really quite a disgusting problem, one that is often silenced, and truly needs to be addressed in this country.

I agree with you. It's true that our ancestor used to discriminate other races ( or being discriminated) because of your race's superiority(inferiority).

But nowadays, as you mention, we come to think that it seems each race has each role in the society, such as black people's athletic ability, and we embrace the difference. So I think racism won't get eliminated, but saying something racial won't be considered to be taboo, rather I think it will be crucial to talk about something or somebody.

I agree with you. Racism is everywhere but people try to hide it and always act like it doesn't exist.

I think that its a big issue that they have photo-shoots with Rihanna and Beyonce and make them look all white and so...

What will all the black kids that have them as role-models think? That the more pale you look, the better it is?
