This week a black man posted on Facebook about his interaction with police officers at a traffic stop. The man, Steven Hildreth, goes on to describe his interaction with the police as civil, respectful, and quite pleasant, even though the man had a gun on him and he was wearing a hoodie. Hildreth’s post gives a detailed description of the encounter that ended with him getting only a warning for his busted headlight because he was so respectful, honest, and complaint. Hildreth made eye contact and used words like “thank you” and “sir.” He showed respect towards the officers and the officers showed the same respect back. Hildreth makes a point that most police officers are good people and not out to get you. He ends his post by thanking the two police officers for their professionalism and service.
This is an important article for people to read because it shows a positive interaction between a black man and cops. So much of the media’s attention on blacks and cops is negative. It seems like there is no hope for the two to come to an understanding and that is why more articles needs to be shared like this.

You can read the article below which has Hildreth’s account of the incident.
