I personally have never seen the show 19 kids and counting, but I have heard a few little things about it. On the radio today, it was brought to my attention about the family scandal that has recently hit the media like storm. Apparently, the oldest son had molested 4 of his younger sisters when he was fourteen years old. The mother and father gave an interview discussing the issue and how they handled it. However, I think the situation itself is very wrong and disturbing; in addition, the way the situation was handled was very inappropriate.

The situation itself happened on multiple occasions under the same roof. Apparently the son, Josh, had molested one of his younger sisters and initially told his parents what he had done wrong. The parents brushed it off, since he admitted the problem. However, by the third incident, was when the parents actually took action to send Josh out of the house to live with a family friend. What I find even more disturbing, is after the media exposed the multiple incidents, the parents interview was very hypocritical.

In a previous interview, as a religious family, they had mentioned how homosexuality and transgender is wrong and should be condemned to death. When they were talking in the interview about their situation, they were in denial about what their son had done to the extent of how it related to them, even though molestation and pedophilia are a way worse offense. I just think the parents should have taken responsibility for the actions of their children right away, and shouldn't publicly speak about what is right and what is wrong in the eyes of god, since they are biased.
