This week I read an article called "Twitter to Launch Music Service?" by Petar Kujundzic on This article revealed that Twitter, the latest and second most used social network, bought a music sharing service. It is an app called Twitter Music (after Twitter bought it) that will be launched at the end of March 2013. This app is designed to help users with new music suggestions according to their music profile. This app contains a "Suggested" tab which selects artists from who the user is following, a "Popular" tab and "Emerging" tabs and also it will use hashtags to view what other users are listening to.

I was very surprised that Twitter is going on with their own music sharing service since they will be competing against the two very famous interest radio services, Pandora, and Spotify. These two music services have been very successful themselves. I wonder if Twitter Music is going to have a tough time getting users since they are up against Pandora and Spotify. Twitter Music will also be competing with Facebook's music section. But the article also motioned that Twitter Music will be joining with SoundCloud which makes this new app something to definitely look forward to.

It's unbelievable how on type of media can easily create another sort of media because they are already know from their first type of media. Twitter is a well-known social network. So because they have been successful with the amount of users they have, this new app they have designed is going to be well known also. Twitter even set up a Twitter account, @Twiitermusic already for their new app tool, which already have two million followers. It is pertty obvious that even thought Twitter Music is going to be competing with other music services, they are not going to have a hard time launching their new product.
