As I was scrolling down through Facebook, one of my friends shared a video regarding domestic violence that caught my attention. The video starts of with a boy running outside to the backyard and a girl following, but right before she crosses the door, the little boy slammed the door making her fall to the ground. The boy looks at and just leaves. The mom comes over to pick her up and says "He just did it because he likes you." ,I was already mad at the fact that the mother just excuses him like that. I kept on watching the video and it depicts the boy growing up and through his actions, grows up to be violent towards women.
This campaigns purpose is to stop domestic violence before it starts , meaning starting as a young child. The video shows how the child did what he wanted because nobody ever told him anything about it. He went off dropping the little and his mom never said anything to him, but just excused him. I think this is good campaign because it lets us know that domestic violence can occur by how someone is raised.
In most cases of domestic violence it is a man mistreating a woman and at time it can be the other way around. There should be no reason for disrespecting or mistreating a woman. I think the fact that men think that they have this authority or have some sort of control over women, that it allows them to treat a women badly by beating them or screaming at them and just putting them down. There is no excuse to mistreat anyone under any circumstance. People need to be aware that this occurs in many homes and people victims of this need to speak out because they are not alone.
