White House photographer, Pete Souza, has been photographing President Obama and his family for the past eight years. I think that his portrayal of Mr. Obama and family is a perfect example of how powerful media can be. His photographs are stunning and portray so much more about Obama than his political views and endeavors as president. I really enjoyed looking through these photos during the past few days because the powerful images really struck me. Regardless of whether or not Americans are Democrats or Republicans, I think that these images remind us of the humility and genuineness of Mr. Obama. His interactions with other are humorous, genuine, and positive. I think that especially during recent years, Mr. Obama's personality alone has shown what else an American president can do besides the political aspects of his job. His interaction with animals, children, veterans, the elderly, his family, and so many others, in my opinion, show his true personality without the cloud of his political associations. I think that photography is such a powerful form of media in this way. For example, if someone who didn't like Mr. Obama took these photos, perhaps he would be shown in a different light. However, I am very grateful that Pete Souza was able to captures these memories and hopefully future generations will remember what was special about President Obama besides his political affiliations.
