So as many may have seen through media, the Native Americans have been fighting to have not have a pipeline be built for it can cause great consequences if it is not managed well. They have been fighting against this oil pipeline for months up until recently that the project has been stopped. This has been a major success to the people living in the area. What should be most concerning is the fact how the people were treated at the times of the protests. They have been protesting peacefully but authorities were present at the pipeline with full riot gear as if there were to be some sort of controlling to do. Many of them were sprayed with tear gas, authorities mistreating them, and they were even hosed down with water. Their protest did gain great supports because celebrities were seen at the site of the protest to join them and making a statement, that what the corporation is totally wrong. Its is really interesting to see how many of these peaceful protest there would always be authorities ready for some sort of riot to happen and they would be there to protect whatever they are protecting in highly equipped uniforms.
