According to Wikipedia, “Refugees of the Syrian Civil War are among the estimated pre-war population of 22 million citizens and permanent residents of the Syrian Arab Republic”. As we all know, Mideast is a place that well product oil that every country in the world needed. After the civil world, western countries started to fight for their own benefit, they started to support or cultivate their own armed forces for their interest. That causes the normal citizen to stared run away from their homes. By 2015, 4 million Syrians had fled abroad and 7.6 million were internally displaced, most of those who flee the country remain in Syria’s neighboring countries of Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan. Moreover, the citizens will be end soon without a western country step in. With and money and weapons support by western countries, the opposition side of the army can have a fight with regular government forces. Furthermore, how does media play a role in the Syrian civil war? The newspaper will write about the Syrian government to ignore human rights. People in another country might think this is a justice war and they were helping the people in the Syrian to runway from their government. On the other hand, do you think about the life of the Syrian people under the war? People can’t stay at home because of the war and they need to move from their homeland.

According to the article “Conflating the Muslim refugee and the terror suspect: responses to the Syrian refugee “crisis” in Brexit Britain” by Madeline-Sophie Abbas in 2019. The author says the Syrian refugee crisis has prompted contradictory responses of securitization of European borders on the one hand, and grassroots compassion on the other, that posits a universal conception of the human deserving of equal rights to safety irrespective of racial or religious difference. The refugee has become a serious problem for the European government. After they accept the refugee, the government need to provide a place for them to live. And local security is also serious to deal with. The conflict between the refugee and local people is also important. Because the refugee needs to work to live. Will the refugee treat unfair or racial by local people? Media also plays an important role in social problems. For example, if the local newspaper can have a report about how these refugees walk a thousand miles come here and the love story about local people provide food for them. These can help to improve the relationships between local people and refugees. Try to think about if a newspaper article is about refugee crime, how the local people look at them. A small amount of group of people can’t on behalf of all the refugees. Most of them are love and just want to live with their family. Media is important to easily control the trend of events.

According to the article Syria & the CNN Effect: What Role Does the Media play in Policy-Making? By L Doucet in 2018. The author says both Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama faced images of major Syrian poison gas attacks in rebel-held areas that were filmed by local activists, posts on social media, and report worldwide. The media influence police-making. People can post about what they think under the news report or images. If the number of people posting is big enough, the government will have to consider public opinion. Media is powerful enough to influence people or even the president of American.

To sum up, media can be used as a strong weapon, can be used as a tool for people to share their opinion. This won’t happen before the New Media, the power of media can change the world. On the other hand, fake news is around us, people need to have the ability to distinguish what is fake news. People need to read more than one article to know about what is true and have their own opinion.
